Children & Young People
A great way to introduce your child to the Quaker way of life is by bringing them to a Children’s Meeting on a Sunday.
Intended as a fun, exploratory and nurturing session for 0 -18s, our aim is to pass on the Quaker ethos through relationship and conversation.
From time to time we have family events, such as picnics in the park with ball games and crafts. You and your family may be interested in the Quaker Summer Camp which is held at a different location every year. Over 100 Friends from our “Area Meeting” live under canvas for the week as a community. Recent camps have taken place in Dorset, Brecon Beacons (Wales) and Buckinghamshire.

Children’s Meeting every Sunday 10:30 – 11:30
Each week a prepared session is offered with age-appropriate activities. This takes place at the same time as the main Meeting for Worship, which the parent or responsible adult attends. You are welcome to stay in the Children’s Room with your child for as long as is necessary. Older children may of course remain in the main Meeting if they choose.
In all sessions the emphasis is on enjoyment, engaging with others and building friendships. They are guided by the Quaker values of Simplicity, Truth, Equality and Peace. Two DBS-checked Quakers are with the children at all times. Activities may include stories, discussion, arts and crafts, games, nature walks, and trips to the local park or playground. Please bring appropriate clothing!
